After an extremely tight election, we are delighte After an extremely tight election, we are delighted to announce Matthew Siow as our First Year Representative, completing our committee for this year! Matthew Siow won 52.94% of the vote, beating Matthew Sheedy who won 47.06% of the vote. There were no votes to reopen nominations, turnout was 26.6%.
This Tuesday we are hosting our first networking e This Tuesday we are hosting our first networking event, centring around working in politics. Some of our guests are working in politics and parliament alongside their degrees, whereas others have already graduated. The event is open to all members and UCL students who wish to ask questions about working in politics, from the application process to pension contributions! Attending shall be: Alice Hopkin - Senior Parliamentary Researcher & Office Manger for Sajid Javid MP Maxwell Marlow - Adam Smith Institute Kitty Rae Thompson - Outreach Manager at the Conservative Environment Network Jack Richardson - Climate Programmes Manager at the Conservative Environment Network JJ O’Connor - Parliamentary Assistant to Jack Lopresti MP, Vice-Chairman of Policy for the Conservative Party. Matthew Greenwood - Researcher at The Centre for Social Justice. Martin Seiffarth - Parliamentary Assistant to Rehman Chishti MP, Former Prime Minister’s Envoy for Freedom of Religion or Belief. Edward Píška - Policy Researcher for Chris Philp MP, Junior Minister for Digital Economy and Technology at DCMS. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow at 7:30, before heading to the Marlborough Arms!
